About FASSE

The Frederick Association of School Support Employees, or FASSE, represents the custodians, maintenance crew, instructional assistants, food service workers, special education instructional assistants, transportation, secretaries, and all other support employees  of Frederick County Public Schools.  We are the local support staff affiliate of the Maryland State Education Association and the National Education Association.  As support staff workers, the members of FASSE constantly work to promote and encourage educational success for all students from getting them to school, and making sure the building is clean and in working order.  To that end, these are the goals of the Frederick Association of School Support Employees:

  • To unify and strengthen school support staff to enable member to speak with a common voice on all matters of mutual concern and to represent individual and common interest of member before the Board of Education and other legal authorities.
  • To promote the general welfare of the school and district, to advance standards, and to establish and maintain good community relations.
  • To develop and promote a continuing program to secure and maintain better employment benefits, uniform practices, sound retirement systems, and improvements in terms and conditions of employment.

In striving to achieve these goals, FASSE establishes and maintains collaborative relationships to build a community committed to the support staff and students of Frederick County.
